Kid Shootings

Recently I have been following a BlogSpot page titled “Kid Shootings” this blogger focused on expressing the deaths of those very young kids who sadly passed by gun shootings. My blog focuses on school shooting related deaths and tragedies. Both blogs have an intention to promote the illegal usage of firearms and are attempting to aware viewers of what unnecessary actions are taking place. I have read through many of the kid shooting post and as someone reads your heart sincerely and gratefully go out to those families that experienced the death of a loved one.

Times like this makes you realize the importance of life and places determination in an activist heart to do whatever it takes to at least save one life. Saving a life is better than not saving one at all. It takes more informative and heart felt blogs of this kind to make a statement, which hopefully leads toward a change.

Some of the stories the kid shootings blog covered were stories that can easily make an individual frustrated because understanding why a life is taken for no reason leave viewers in a state of disbelief. Unnecessary gun usage must come to a stop because the life that is taken can be your very own, or a loved one that is dear to your heart.

Many people can easily say that they have never lost someone to gun shootings or never even experienced a significant other withstand gunshots, but one thing everyone can say is that they know the significance guns can have on an individual lives and surrounding family members.

Citizens of this world are not taking the true power of guns into account, and are instead performing unrighteous acts toward innocent people of this world. We can’t let guns control us anymore, we have to control gun acts and further prevent these horrible tragedies that continues to take place.

Unsafe Routines Could Cause for A Tragedy

When there is danger at a school, more specifically a university with up to hundreds of people who can be in one course setting at a time, what should safety precautions look like? and should professors relax during these moments?

Not to many years ago, an in-class gunfire was aimed at a Purdue professor, which shot him causing panic and chaos throughout the schools daily affairs. Quick alerts were sent out around the school, to remain safe and secure in your area for things to de-escalate. The main goal at a time like this is to remain calm, but can being to calm be an extreme safety hazard.

During the campus alerts, a professor deliberately ignored the shootings and carried on with the class. I agree with the whole, "keeping calm" thing, but at this point I think its best to provide students and yourself with the most safe atmosphere as possible. Keeping calm should be a soothing matter, but students spoke on the professors negligence and mentioned that he joked around with the alerts and did not take them seriously. Students were dumb-founded with the professors lack in being as safe as possible. The professor told everyone to stay seated, not going to the door to lock it, and remain quiet while he finish up his teaching objectives.

I am all for staying calm under pressure, but actions MUST be performed for safety purposes under extreme drastic measures. Sometimes it can be impossible to stop a shooter, but it is always possible to protect lives. Protection by all means is the key focus tool which must be met properly in order to create a continued and consistent belief in types of emergency protocols.  These shootings must come to an end, and to get to the end, you have to first start.

No place for guns in a college town

Around kalamazoo, there have many reports on shootings that takes place near Western Michigan University's campus. Parties are starting to get out of control and it seems like the end result is starting to resort to fights and shootings. Not only kalamazoo is experiencing these tragedies but college campuses all over America have been battling these issues. This simply needs to come to a stop! Students come to college for an education and to set their life up to accomplish their goals, but students are staring to get drawn into the idea of maximum protection and the misuse of guns. Having protection is okay, but if students are exposing these weapons and threatening peers will just create a chain of hate which leads to breaking news which is sad to see for young adults beginning their careers.

Being an actual student at Western Michigan University, I have been around situations that requires me to voice my opinion on how not only me, but all college students typically feel about the improper use of firing guns near campus. Students have sadly past due to this issue and many injured, and students are still experiencing the same situations, mainly on the weekends. Most students believe that Kalamazoo locals is the route to all evil surrounding campus. Locals come crash parties unattended and expect to get treated the same as everyone else. Locals bring trouble and weapons where ever they go because many expressed jealously towards college students which results in conflicts. College students most realize their reasons for being in college and that is to get their education and not feed into any negative behavior that stands before them. Sometime not fighting back is the smartest thing to do, because the life you save can be your very own.
